Admissions Policy and Procedure

Silverline is a co-educational international private school, which is fully licensed by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. Our dedicated teaching staff deliver an adapted UK National Curriculum to students from 3 to 18 years of age. We welcome children from different academic backgrounds and abilities and aim to ensure that the learning needs of all children are met in a safe, secure, happy and dynamic environment.

Applying to Silverline

General Policy

The academic year runs from September to June, but children may be admitted to Silverline during the course of the academic year, should a place become available, and subject to approval by the Board of Directors.

By registering with Silverline Private School, you are giving us permission to process relevant personal data, in accordance with GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and CY Law 125 (I) of 2018.

Acceptance of a place, if offered, implies acceptance of all the Policies of the School currently in force, and any subsequent Policies set out by the Board of Directors of the School.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) Admissions Policy

The medium of instruction at Silverline is English, and children are expected to be able to access all areas of the curriculum in English. Parents are required to inform the school, at the time of application, of all languages spoken by their child, and at home. On commencement, Silverline will accommodate and offer some support to children who do not have English as their first language. Children will be able to access this support in school on a ‘need led’ basis following identification. Please be aware that our primary aim will be to have children study without EAL support at the earliest opportunity. Parental support and involvement will be key in this process and may require one-to-one support to enhance progress at the beginning. The school will provide parents with suggestions in this regard.


Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We are an inclusive school which accepts students with additional needs. To make the educational experience the best we can for students, we need to know how to help them. If your child has any diagnosed educational need, please let us know and enclose copies of any reports you might have. If any Special Education Needs are specified, additional forms will need to be completed and documents submitted. Once the application is submitted, should a space be available, you will be contacted by our SEND Administrator to carry out an observation of your child in the school setting.


Application Procedure

To apply for a place for your child, an initial application fee of €300,00 per student is required. This must be paid at the time of application and is non-refundable. Please note that an application cannot be processed unless all the necessary details have been provided.
Once the School is satisfied that the student meets all entry requirements, we can proceed to the enrolment stage, if a space is available.


Enrolment Procedure

Upon completion of the Enrolment Form and submission of all necessary documentation, an annual fee deposit of €400,00 needs to be paid to secure the student’s place. The deposit will be deducted from the final fee invoice, assuming no other amounts are owed to the School.

If the place is not taken up, the full amount of the deposit will be forfeited, unless the School has been notified in writing before 1st July.
Kindly note that the enrolment procedure is not fully completed until the tuition fees have been paid. Failure to pay the fees on time may result in the loss of your child’s place.


Re-Registration Process for existing students

To secure your child’s place for the next academic year, the re-registration process needs to be completed through the Parent Portal. Once the re-registration form has been completed, and any new information has been provided, please submit the signed Re-Registration Form, along with the signed Annual Fee-Schedule and Agreement Between the Parent/Guardian and the School.

At this stage, an invoice for €500,00 will be raised (€100,00 re-registration fee and €400,00 annual fee deposit). Failure to complete the annual re-registration process and/or to pay the re-registration fee on time may result in the loss of your child’s place.


Withdrawal Policy

A signed Withdrawal Form is to be submitted, at least one month in advance, to for ALL students, who are either leaving mid-year or not returning for the next academic year. Furthermore, the Ministry of Education regulations and Cyprus law require written confirmation by the parents as to which school students will be attending in the future. It is therefore essential to complete this part of the form.


Refund Policy

The application fee is non-refundable.

The re-registration fee is non-refundable.

Tuition fees are non-refundable, whether they are paid annually, termly, or monthly.

The annual fee deposit (which relates to the following academic year) is non-refundable in the event of a student being withdrawn unless the School has been notified in writing before 1st July that the student will not be joining Silverline.


Early Years

Minimum Joining Age

Students may join the Pre-Primary School at Silverline Private School, provided that they have reached their 3rd birthday on or before 1st September of the academic year in which they wish to join.

Key Stage One

Minimum Joining Age

Students may join Key Stage One at Silverline Private School, provided that they have reached their 5th birthday on or before 1st September of the academic year in which they wish to join.

Secondary School

Our Secondary School culminates in students taking GCE A Level examinations, which qualify them to enter universities all over the world. Besides these qualifications, upon graduation, all our students are awarded a Cyprus Apolytirion (School Leaving Certificate), which is accredited by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture.

Most of our students enter Year 7 from our Primary School. Other students wishing to be admitted to Silverline are expected to sit an aptitude test, so that we are able to ascertain individual academic abilities. New students are also required to attend a personal meeting with the Head of Secondary School prior to being admitted. Students wishing to enter at Year 12 should have a minimum of 5 IGCSEs/GCSEs, or equivalent, and at least a Grade 6 in the subjects that they will be studying at GCE A level.
